The Rain Forest Lodge

What a gift. After a long summer absence of 'vacation' we were beat. We were given a gift of a much needed get away and found this fabulous place. (having friends who knew the manager helped in getting a better price, too!)
Anthony and I spent 3 nights here the the Rain Forest Lodge. Our 2 semester missionary girls stayed with Karis and Sophia while we were gone.
A surprise was no mosquitoes! Apparently having no stagnate water, and lots of birds and bats keeps the mosquito population controlled here. We've been sleeping under mosquito nets for 2 years, and spraying if we go out in the evenings to ward off malaria.

But not here!. This is the view from our cabin's porch, nestled down and surrounded on all sides by the forest.

This small picture does not show well, but there is a fabulous bird hiding behind the branches. It is the Great Blue Turaco.

In the rain forest, in the rainy season, expect RAIN. We took a great picture of the pool as we were leaving...alas nice and sunny that day. And here is where we sat in the rainy afternoons to read quietly and enjoy coffee and nature and QUIET!
The manager kept asking us what we wanted to do today? NOTHING!

We certainly came back home refreshed. Our introvert batteries were charged back up.
We decided that this is one of the most wonderful gifts either of us has ever received.
Thanks guys.
