We were given a gift of money to purchase Bibles. Today, we got quite a few. We were so excited to find that a new translation has been made of the Luganda Bible. The one everyone carries is very difficult to read or understand, and even many or most native Luganda speakers have difficulty reading it.
Today we have a case of the New Luganda, specifically to give to our pastors and leaders at our next training session. We want them to test them out compared to their 'old' ones to see if the language is better, yet correct.
Our pastors were very hesitant at first, but after some time of scrutiny, came to the consensus that the new translation is ok, and even good! Many of their Bibles were barely hanging on. They were so appreciative for the new Luganda Bible, the new small English versions, and the Children's Bibles with pictures. Even the adults will use them in small storying or study groups.
This is Hannah and Sophia. Hannah is one of our 4 Hands On missionaries. We have a team of 4 who are university age, here for a semester of missions first hand.
They are focusing on youth, while they are seeing... living... experiencing life on the Kampala Urban Team.
a local EGG ROLL.
Of course, an egg roll consists of a boiled egg inside of a potato batter that is deep fried.
Makes more sense than what I'm familiar with!
